My name is Joe Playwright and I am currently a student at Arizona State University.  I am writing in hopes that you will consider my new play Catastrophe for your Festival of Short Plays.  Catastrophe, a short play chronicling a young writer’s first attempt to write a musical, has been discussed in a workshop setting at ASU and had a staged reading in spring 2006, but has not yet had a professional production.

At ASU I have been fortunate to have had several workshop productions of shorter works as well as multiple staged readings of my full-length plays.  I also recently had a successful production of my one-act The Short at the Guthrie Theatre in Minneapolis.
